Jayne Maxwell is a self-taught artist. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Jayne took to the arts at a young age.  Her original love was dancing and choreography however, her love for painting and sculpting grew in high school as well. Her first cloth sculpture, Mother,  was created in 1993 after experiencing a dream in which she made several pieces for an office building. Since that dream, numerous pieces have been commissioned and created with sculptures  being sold across the country.

Jayne Maxwell, JaMax,  earned her BA from California State University of Sacramento. She currently resides in Knoxville, TN.
